These Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites combine tender salmon cubes with a sweet-spicy bang bang sauce for a fast, flavorful seafood dish. Cook them in a skillet, oven, or air fryer for an easy meal that works as an appetizer or main course.

Ingredients

Scale

For the salmon

  • 1 pound salmon fillets, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
  • salt and black pepper, to taste

For the bang bang sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Cut the salmon into 1-inch cubes so the pieces cook quickly and evenly.
  2. Place the salmon cubes into a mixing bowl. Add the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne if using, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the fish looks evenly coated with seasoning.
  3. Cook the salmon using your preferred method:

    Skillet method:
Warm a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon cubes in a single layer. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side until the outside turns golden and the center cooks through.

    Oven method:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet and arrange the seasoned salmon in one layer. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily and looks fully cooked.

    Air fryer method:
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the salmon cubes in the basket in a single layer. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bites turn crisp and cooked through.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth.
  5. Drizzle the sauce over the warm salmon bites or gently toss them in the sauce before serving. Serve immediately for the best texture.

Notes

  • Adjust the sriracha and cayenne to control the heat level.
  • Keep the sauce separate until serving if you want the salmon to stay crisp longer.
  • These bites also work well over rice, in tacos, or on salads.
