Air Fryer Banana Peppers turn fresh banana peppers into a crispy, savory snack with just a few pantry ingredients. They cook fast, taste bright and tangy, and work beautifully as an appetizer, salad topper, pizza topping, or easy game-day bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 pound fresh banana peppers or sweet peppers, sliced and seeded
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and sea salt. Stir well so the seasoning spreads evenly through the flour.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
  3. Slice the banana peppers into rings and remove the seeds if needed.
  4. Add the pepper slices to the seasoned flour mixture and toss until each piece gets coated on all sides.
  5. Let the coated peppers rest for about 5 minutes. This helps the flour cling better and creates a thicker, crispier coating.
  6. Place the coated banana peppers into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket, or the peppers may steam instead of crisp.
  7. Spray the tops of the peppers lightly with olive oil spray, then carefully turn them and spray the other side as well.
  8. Air fry for about 8 minutes, or until the peppers look golden brown and crisp around the edges.
  9. Transfer the cooked peppers to a baking sheet lined with paper towels so any excess oil can drain off.
  10. Let them cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
  11. Serve them on a platter or in a bowl with a small dish of ranch dressing for dipping.

Notes

These Air Fryer Banana Peppers taste best fresh from the air fryer. They make a great topping for pizza and salads, and they also work well as a quick snack or appetizer.
